I received a message recently from Sal in India, who noted that she loved my positivity and asked me how I stay in such a great mood, motivated and inspired.

I'm very grateful for Sal's kind words and query. In an effort to remain transparent, however, I must provide a disclaimer before I give tips to my cheerfulness.

I am not cheerful 100% of the time.  I'm human.  A such,  I get angry, frustrated and sad on occasion like everyone else.  I do, however, ensure that my cheerful moments far outweigh the not-so-cheerful ones and I do not hold on to sour feelings for too long (I aim for an hour or less because life is just too amazing to spend sulking).

The aforementioned being said, a positive attitude directly shapes your future and how quick your goals are conquered.

Below, I list 3 of my top tips to stay inspired/motivated.

1. Music!

Music has an amazing way of assisting us to block out the negativity and lift our moods substantially.

I have an inspirational/motivational playlist that lifts my mood almost instantly when feeling a bit down and keeps me in a great mood on my many "up" days.  I challenge you to create your own playlist of songs that lift your spirit.  Here's the link to mine -  it has a bit of everything from songs that get my energy pumping (Hard) to songs that keep me in a state of gratitude and remind me to remain present (What a Wonderful World).  You can use it as inspiration for your own.

2. Choose Your Company Wisely.

Surround yourself with people that are on the same wavelength as you (or are on a wavelength you wish to be!).

Jim Rohn once said, "You are the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with."

What does your company say about you?

I speak often with my BPIC (Business Partner In Crime) Toneka as well as others that lift my energy.  I seek to spend time with and around those who are flooded with ambition and have a positive demeanour. If negative people surround you, take a read of a previous blog post entitled: 7 Ways to Eliminate The Effects of Negative People.

3.  Read the Good Stuff!

Lay off the drama-filled news and stay off of the gossip blogs, as entertaining as they may seem, they slowly eat at your spirit.

Inspirational sites and books are so helpful and fill your spirit with the light desperately needed in this world. The great ones are best read with either a notebook and pen and/or a highlighter in hand.  Write down the stuff that resonates and refer back to it often.

My favorite inspirational reads include The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho and What I Know For Sure by Oprah.

My best-seller, Lucky Code, is also a great read to transform your outlook and "luck" in life.  But don't take my word for it please.  Indie book reviewer Killarney Traynor's five star Amazon review says (condensed),

"...Written with a breezy, optimistic, and no-nonsense manner, Edwards is witty, entertaining, and thought-provoking. Best read with a journal, this book is highly recommended for anyone looking to up their game in life."

Closing Thought.

What you surround yourself with, you become. Take in inspirational tunes, hang around like-minded, positive individuals and read the good stuff that inspires you to become a better version of yourself.
